Warner died suddenly while fishing with his friends in Wythe County Thursday October 18, 2007. He was born on December 24, 1936 in Independence, Va., and was the son of the late Agnes Johnson Osborne Hughes and Pascal Osborne. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a retired Special Agent for the Alcohol Beverage Control in the Commonwealth of Virginia, a recent member of theFraternal Order of Police, a member of the Dublin United Methodist Church, and a very active member of the the Henry Clay Masonic Lodge #280 A.F.&A.M. where he served as Master several times, was on the Board of Directors for the New River Valley Juvenile Dentention Home and was an active volunteer at the Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center where he enjoyed calling Bingo.
MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
Warner Johnson Osborne
1936-2007
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne was a member of the New River Valley Detention Commission since 1995; and
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne is fondly remembered as a champion of for the cause of youth and families and a man whose love for his fellow citizens led him to a life of service; and
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne was a stalwart supporter of the employees of the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Home; and
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne served his country as a veteran of the United States Army; and
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne served the citizens of the Commonwealth of Virginia as a special agent for the Virginia Alcoholic Beverage Control Board; and
WHEREAS, Warner Johnson Osborne also served his community through his volunteer service as a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Pulaski Encouraging Progress Steering Committee, the Dublin United Methodist Church; the Henry Clay Masonic Lodge, the Highland Ridge Rehabilitation Center; and
Whereas, Warner C. Osborne was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and a dear friend to those who knew him; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the members of the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Commission do hereby commend and express its sincere appreciation for the service of Warner J. Osborne to the county and its citizens; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the text of this resolution be spread upon the minutes of the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Commission this Nineteenth day of December, 2007 in permanent testimony of its appreciation to the service of Mr. Warner Johnson Osborne.
