Joseph W. Young, Jr.
I am a life-long resident of Christiansburg. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice from Radford University. I obtained my M.B.A. from Averett University. I have been with the home since 1998. I first started as a volunteer and have steadily climbed the proverbial "ladder" to my current position as Director of Operations | Financial Administrator. I also serve as the Secretary to the Commission.
Animals are a huge part of my life. I have two dogs (Nicky and Campbell) and a cat (Hermione). I am also a Foster Parent for the Animal Welfare Program at Virginia Tech.
I also have a fondness for travel. I have traveled to Holland, Germany, Switzerland, France, The UK, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and many places here in the US......... (I ♥ Philadelphia). No matter how much I travel and how many wonderful places I see, it is with great relief when I return home - truly, there is no place like home.
Although I have a serious job here at the home, I find that it is equally important to have a sense of humor - Laughing is exercise for your soul.
